Our History
Over the last five years BlockTexx® has developed, tested, patented and commercialised our chemical separation technology called S.O.F.T. (separation of fibre technology).
Difficult to recycle clothing made from blends of polyester and cotton fibres can now be processed and recycled at commercial scale.

2018
We signed the legal documents, put some money in the bank and set to work.
2019
From laboratory trials…many laboratory trials. Let’s focus on the successful ones. From humble beginnings…100ml trials during 2019, BlockTexx scaled the S.O.F.T.™ process to a small pilot facility in Far North Queensland to prove our chemical separation technology. These 5 kg batches showed our scientists and clients that a commercial scale solution was possible.
We celebrated the year's end with a global award; named as a top 50 to watch cleantech company.
2020
As CV-19 raged across the world, Australia went into lockdown. At BlockTexx, we focussed on further research and development, building on our chemical and mechanical engineering knowledge and skills.

2021
BlockTexx celebrates closing our Series A funding round with support from three levels of Australian government - Federal, State and local.
We took the keys to an empty building with the dream of making it into a commercial scale textile resource recovery facility.
And then the equipment started arriving…plus a few new BlockTexx team members.
2022
Wow…what a year. During 2022, we transformed an empty warehouse into the BlockTexx textile recovery facility. A global pandemic couldn’t stop us, closed borders and locked downs didn’t hold us up, the BlockTexx team and our construction partners pushed on to ensure our dream was realised.
2023
A year of highlights. We began operations of our commercial scale plant, shipped our first products and continued to build out our exceptional team.
Our Give a Sheet® for the Planet brand rolled out across Australia, developed the BlockTexx® supplier network and welcomed our social impact partners across the disability, correctional and homeless sectors.
